We're proud of our efforts!

  • In 2013 we were awarded a partial grant from New York State to install a Solar Water pre-heat system at our bathhouse. The water is first heated by the sun and then goes through our oil-fired hot water heater saving many gallons of fossil fuel each season.

  • In 2011 we installed a Solar Water heating system for our pool.

  • We recycle, we compost, we keep our guests' unopened food items out of the landfill by collecting them at checkout and donating them to our local food bank.

  • We use energy efficient light bulbs, water saving devices, and timers on some of our lights.

  • We use Earth-freindly cleaners.

  • We do not use any chemical fertilizers or weed killers.

  • We have metered showers.

  • Our firewood comes from trees that have already fallen.

  • When we cater, we use flatware instead of disposables.

  • We send out email confirmations instead of printed ones and when guests call to make a reservation it is written on a sheet of scrap paper.

  • Much of the fence and bleachers at our baseball fields were salvaged from Dwaine's hometown of Richfield, MN.  His brothers and best friend heard that the Little League Complex was being dismantled to make room for the expanding airport.  They were able to reclaim the materials keeping them out of the landfill.
